Easy DIY Wire Heart Crown 7.1

DIY Wire Heart Crown is a felt and vinyl crown fascinator and heart scepter that will add a dainty dose of magic to any outfit! Made using a store bought plastic headband, our printable pattern below, felt, iron-on vinyl and a little glue, this is a great project for everyone – including those with limited crafting experience.

1. The materials you need :

- Jewellery wire (I used 20 gauge copper wire)

- Jewellery pliers (for bending and cutting the wire

2. Bend the wire so that it forms the top of a heart shape. I found it was easy enough to do this with my fingers, but if you’re a bit of a perfectionist, pliers might give you more precise curves. Just make sure you use pliers without teeth so you don’t get any nasty marks on your wire.

3. Join the two ends of the wire together at the bottom and twist to close off the heart.

4. Repeat the first two steps above so that you continue making hearts at intervals of about 3 cm.

5. Once you’ve got enough hearts to fit around your head, connect the two ends of the crown together by twisting the strands of wire around each other.

And it really is as easy as that!

Also, because it’s a simple and not too costly project, you could try getting your kids involved. Make a craft day out it – and they could then use the crowns afterwards in games of dress ups. Or how about having a crown crafting session as part of the activities at a girl’s birthday party
